Hyper-V includes multiple components that make up the Microsoft virtualization platform. This allows them to control their VMs efficiently and reduce the time spent on IT infrastructure management. Hyper-V allows you to use your physical hardware more effectively by running multiple workloads on a single machine. A single Hyper-V host can have many VMs created on it. The VMs use the same hardware resources as the host. Each child partition is a VM that is a complete virtual computer, with a guest OS (need not be Microsoft) and programs running on it. The host OS runs in the parent partition. In Hyper-V, there is a parent partition and any number of child partitions.
